Juicefast is officially over!

Sat Mar 2, 2013, 9:29 AM

10 days ago, I decided to go on a juice fast that was going to last 10 days. Eating nothing else but juice. I did consume some vegetables and fruit aswell now here and there. But mostly juice.

Positives
:bulletpink: I FEEL SO good and healthy.
:bulletpink: I lost probably around 10 pounds.
:bulletpink: No headaches or stomac pains, which I usually have now and then.
:bulletpink: SO MUCH MORE ENERGY
:bulletpink: my skin looks a lot healthier.
:bulletpink: I can consume vegetables/fruits I hate which is good for me by just mixing them with other stuff. Brilliant!

Negatives

:bulletred: SO much waste of fruit/vegetable meat, and always having to clean the juicer every time. But thats it.

----

>8D IT FELT SO GOOD EATING A SANDWHICH TODAY NOW THAT IVE DONE and been drinking nothing but fruit and veggies for 10 days.
FINALLY by griffsnuff

I will keep making juice, and as a lover of juice before I got the juicer, im happy to stop buying processed nonnutrientfilled juice and change it with my own homemade ones! I highely suggest getting a juicer in your home if you can. SO MANY tastey juices you can make! here is my favourite that I have made so far.

The nomnom juice
- The bottom juicy part of Chinese cabbage
- Half a cucumber
- 2 celery stalks
- 3 small pears
- 4 big green apples
- A thumbsize ginger piece.
- Half a lemon

:icontearplz: I just thought I wanted to share. As a CRAZY Meateater and lover of all meat and bread , I am proud of myself haha. Took a lot of determination for me to go through with it, its probably easier for people who dont love meat, coffee, burn energydrink AND CHOCOLATE as much as I do xDDD

I've done juicefasts before, love them :D Glad you had a positive experience!
If you buy a dehydrator you can save the left over fruit/vegetable meat for soups and breads/muffins/salads :D Or freeze it too.

you probably have thrown out the vegetable/fruit flesh by now but i thought you'd know for future reference you can make muffins out of those 8D
my mother always makes juices with our power juicer (preferably carrots and apples my fav. blend.) and when we're done she makes her special fruit/veggie muffins/biscuits and they are amazing!
if you want the recipe let me knowww

oh my good i so wanna try this now OuO but i'm pretty sure i'd be hungry all time xD like, how does it work? whenever you feel hungry you have juice or fruits or something or it's just as in a glass in the morning, on in afternoon and such?
wow congrats on being healthier haha . u. !

xD I get less hungry from drinking the juice than I do from eating food. 3 big glasses a day should be enough and keep you from hunger. The hunger I felt was more psychological than it was real hunger xD because nomming on food is something I love to do even when im not hungry.

This sounds so awesome, I might try your nom nom juice ^.^ god knows I don't eat enough healthy things, this might make it more appealing to me (especially as a student, the thought of buying fruit to eat on it's own is simply madness!)

I would worry tho, you won't get all the nutrients you need from just fruit. Meat is still important, red meat doesn't have fat (venison i.e. deer is very lean so no worries about fat) You don't want to become malnourished in other ways. But whatever I bet your body is like "OMG THIS IS AWESOME" atm :lmao:

From what ive read you can get both protein and fat from eating things other than meat. xD And if you know which contain what you will be fine. And you can also eat nuts.

This is probably true, I can't say I'm an expert or anything. What I have heard (don't take my word on it though) is that most vegetarians need to take supplements since only 14 or something vitamins are found in vegetables and what not. I think meat contains other things too.
Nuts I imagine solve part of this problem :XD: I feel like looking this stuff up lol..

xD then again im no vegetarian and even I take supplements beside eating all kinds of stuff.

8D nuts are super good! though eating to much of them can probably be to fattening. a handfull a day is enough I think.

Kan man spise frukt og grønnsaker i tillegg, eller kan man bare drikke juice/smoothies?

A tip (from one juice freak to another) - keep the pulp! You can make it into crackers :). If you don't want to make crackers every time you make juice, simply freeze the pulp and thaw it when you have enough to make crackers. Here are a few recipes I love. :D
Green Crackers
Juice Pulp Crackers
Lemon Thyme Juice Pulp Crackers
(You don't need a dehydrator, btw, you can simply bake them in your oven. Oh, and if you're juicing something you don't want to eat in a cracker, simply juice everything else first, collect the pulp, and then juice the other stuff.)

I love juice, especially if it's green. :3

One thing you most likely know though, is Beware of juices though! The sugars will turn to fats if youre not careful!

This is actually a great idea D8<
I am not fat or anything, even very underweight, but I'd love to try this!
My skin is way too pale and I only eat bacon and cookies and drink too much energydrink, so it might be a good idea to try something healthy.
AND I LOVE JUICE ASDASF

This might be a long comment, but your juice fast interested me a great deal.

My mother and I wanted to attempt a fasting at least once a week, and maybe suppliment it with juicing. It is my belief that eating too much deprives a body of essential nutriets due to the fact you're trying to process and rid itself of already consumed stuff, and blah blah, digestive stuffs. But reducing and controlling when consuming is preferable since the body doesn't stress processing. In short, people just eat too much because it's how we are programmed from centuries ago when food was scarce, and yadda yadda, eat when you can.

But I already know that juicing is a remarkable diet, as the bulk of our nutriets are located in a variety of fruits and veggies and you can include a large sum in one serving, and suppliment with pulp, and still drink a lot more. However, I would also like to make a note to those wanting to attempt this that you do not do so if you have a high stress job or requires a good deal of physical labor, as your body needs protein and bulk to function properly. That's about it though. My fav juice is carrot juice, fresh from the machiny. So good.

It occurred to me that one of the hidden benefits of this kind of thing is that you learn in the 10 days to like the taste of fresh vegetable juices and veggies in general better, so that you would miss them if you skipped them!

That juice actually sounds good to me! Do you use the entire lemon-half (ie, skin and all)?

Thank you for sharing the recipe! My brothers have been practicing the juice diet (but never strictly adhering to it) and they make really nasty mixes like straight beets and carrots and nothing else. One time they threw an onion in :I

Did you feel sick the first few days?

Wow! That's pretty amazing you last 10 days with only juices, fruits and vegetables! Seriously, I couldn't do that xDD I love meat and bread WAY too much :XD:

But, I was just wondering, what juicer do you have? I'm looking to buy one, but can't find a good one anywhere!

Anyway, congrats!
