Thegeckos by griffsnuff Thegeckos by griffsnuff
these are the geckos i rescued. the one full of spots is Hedwig while the yellow one is lumos.

Hedwig got a huge soft bulge under her stomac, shes had it since forever. But luckly shes in no pain.

Lumos have been eating his toes off, probly because of to dry air when he tried eating of his skin >:

Im now going to feed them so they gain some weight. And im going to switch their huge tank with the goldfish later on because they wont need that huge tank.

But i wanted to show them to you guys ^^

My cat is totally intrested in them xD watching them closly haha

the best thing is to read about them on reptile forums and so on but the main thing thats very important is to give them a warm and a cold side in the terrarie, you could buy a heatingpad and put it under your tank on one of the sides. They also need clear water in a bowl and should be fed atleast two times a week with crickets or mealworms, theres some other things you can feed them to ^^

And make sure to dust the crickets once in a while with calcium because that is very important for them. Also provide hidingareas for them and other than that they are very easy to take care of ^^ but make sure to read about them xD ive probly forgotten to mention alot.

dont know if you know, but incase you dont: yes, the toes can come off if its not humid enough during their shedding of the skin, and even the little pieces left on the toes might build up, and eventually they might become an issue, and itll keep the nails from growing properly too, so watch out for it, and perhaps carefully use a set of tweezers to take it off, ive saved countless of toes that way =)

and those bulges look reeeally wierd, they remind me of a "pregnant" gecko, and while ive heard of reptiles getting their eggs stuck inside of them, its not usually something they survive, =/ but since she's doing fine, im totally blank =P

Aww so adorable !
Hedwig has been eating? because when a gecko is pregnant her stomach bulks and stops eating, but there is a problem when your gecko retains the eggs, this problem can be caused because of not find a place for lay them. Other reasoncould be that she brings infertile eggs. But you should take her to a vet the egg retention can cause death in the worst case ):
