Once I Knew a GirlOnce I knew a girl named Eve. She was short and skinny and wore glasses, and everywhere she went she was all elbows. She mispronounced her R's and climbed trees barefoot and saw fairies where others only saw fireflies.
Eve loved to read. Stories clung to her like velvet. Her bedroom was an Eden cast in mint green and populated by books – new books, old books, books with all the secrets of the world hidden inside them.
She brought her love to school with her: sometimes, the teacher would send her out into the hallway for reading during class. Haha, wouldn't want us to actually learn anything in school, we used to joke.
There were those

Fill a jar with lightning bugs.
Release them.  Let them fly,
fly into the nearest lantern.
Let them burn out, die out.

sometimes i hate canada;
othertimes i want to marry canada.

Douse the fireflies in my heart
with waterlilies, extinguishing;
burn the arsonist in snowcaps
and igloos. Become an Eskimo
for a day.  Kill twelve ladybugs
with your bare hands, without
my barenaked hands or body,
my barely-alive skin.  Inhaling
smoke, I admit I miss you, but
my voice escapes you through
the Emergency Exit.   Coward.

My confession vanished
like the flames; now I'm
left smo
Suicide
I'm so sick of suicide
It's everywhere I look
Pictures, and in movies
In poetry and books

I'm so sick of suicide
It's pathetic and it's weak
Blah blah blah so awful
Outlook always bleak

This life's just not worth living
Could they be any more cliché'?
I know that I just can't go on
Isn't that what they say?

Do you live in China
Without freedom's basic choice?
Are you a woman in Afghanistan?
Forbidden to have a voice.

Are you starving now in Africa?
Surrounded by disease
Or under corrupt dictatorship
Forced upon your knees

These people rise to challenges
We cannot comprehend
They live their lives from day to day
And triu
the little boy who cried deathi can't control
where i live,
who i sit by,
what i like,
who i love
&
you can't control
the countries your father trades you to,
how far away the moon is,
what your body looks like,
who you love

oh, you know this already.
let's blame it on biology–
it's the fault of genetics,
of chromosomes.
let's blame our alleles
for playing favourites.

Let's cut to the chase:
your body on his bed.
Let's cut to the chase:
it all ends with a sigh.
Let's cut to the chase:
you're beautiful, girl,
we both know this,
we both know how
science plays favourites.

but you're mine

I dont think this really works. There is no logical connection between beauty and meaning. It would be more logical to say..

The meaning of life

Life is beauty
Beauty can be a thing you like.
I like fish.

Thus fish are beautiful. (OR Thus fish are (an aspect of) life.)
Either way this isnt poetry so much as flawed philosophical reasoning.
Especially as your first premise (Life is beauty), and your second (Beauty can be a thing you like) are highly questionable to start with. And then the way you link them together just dosnt work.

Its not though, thats the whole point of logic. It isn't subjective. To say, logic is subjective is to say there is no such thing as logic.
