he looks a little like a doberman pinscher, albeit an albino one without his tail docked.

He is a fawn doberman pinscher, it's a less well known of the four 'real' doberman colors (black, chocolate and blue being the other three) - [link] [link] [link]

oh right, a fawn one! I was about to get one of those! but then I thought that they might have more skin problems like the blue ones and wound up not getting it. thanks for the info! ^^

Since the other three colors are actually natural, unlike the pure white albino one, they can't really have more skin problems than the classy black one.

well it isn't official but I've heard from a lot of breeders that the "blue ones" tend to lose their fur and generally have more similar problems, I assumed it was the same with the rest.
